Petsa de Peligro: Breaking The Cycle

What is Petsa de Peligro

It's the day(s) when you have to stretch your remaining cash on hand to make it last until the next payday.

Yes, that salary is just around the corner, but there's this tiny little issue that needs to be addressed. It's called the 'right now'.

Saving Basics - How I Save

Daruma coin bank for your #lifegoals

Ants prepare for a rainy day by instinct. We humans, however, need to learn how to save. As a financial advisor, I get to attend talks and trainings to widen my financial know-how. Let me share with you what I've learned so far.

Educational Field Trip: Traditional vs. Modern

The single time of the school year when serial latecomers arrive in school before the break of dawn. Yes, it's field trip day! Class field trips or educational tours are conducted annually in my son's school.

Moms my age would probably agree when I say field trips during our time consisted of a day-long bus ride, with stops to historical landmarks such as Kawit in Cavite, Calamba in Laguna, UPLB and Intramuros in Manila.

These days - at least in my son's school - the annual activity seems to be more geared towards a team building type of excursion than an homage to textbook destinations. Is you kid's school following the same trend?

Entering a New Realm: Freezer Cooking

Say what? Freezer Cooking or Freezer Food/Freezer Meals. Basically, the idea is to cook food in bulk, chuck it in the cold storage and just re-heat things come meal time. It saves time, effort and money. Yipee!

Most work at home moms (WAHMs) have busy days, much like any corporate slave out there. There are times when we just can't whip up a nice meal that doesn't come from a can.

Party Planning: DIY Birthday Party Food Menu

Last month, I completely DIY-ed my son's 5th birthday party food. I really wanted to win that Super Mommy of the Year Award! Kidding...

On-the-day prep: couldn't have survived without that food chopper!

Planning to host a party this holiday? Read the rest of my entry to gain useful tips!

Home-Made Chicken Nuggets

Making home-made chicken nuggets is one of my proudest kitchen sorcery moments. My preschooler loves chicken nuggets. But I can't watch him eat store-bought ones all the time (there are days when that's all he wanted to eat)!

Semi-Permanent Vacation

Ayo! Greetings from the City of Smiles, Cebu!

This is probably the first time I'll mention this. My kid's dad and I are not exactly a couple. Let's just say that our relationship falls into the 'it's complicated' category.

Hann's 3rd Birthday

Today is my kid Hann's 3rd birthday. I didn't plan anything big for him because it's a weekday, but we'll definitely have a nice party-feel lunch come this weekend. I'm talking balloons, cake and ice cream!

Still, I didn't want to let this day slip by like an ordinary day so I brought Hann to the local Children's Museum (Museo Pambata). He had a great time there because most of the exhibits are hands-on.
