Saving Basics - How I Save

Daruma coin bank for your #lifegoals

Ants prepare for a rainy day by instinct. We humans, however, need to learn how to save. As a financial advisor, I get to attend talks and trainings to widen my financial know-how. Let me share with you what I've learned so far.

Taal Volcano Eruption

Woke up to this ashfall in Marikina.
It's not alarming, but one can only imagine how much people living near Taal Volcano is experiencing.

2019: Of Sparking Joy and Other Ideas

Who would've thought that last year's mid-year post would turn out to be the last for 2018? Well, that's that! Let's all bid adieu to the year that has passed.

Christmas Eve in our onesies :D
Cue song: Ariana Grande - Thank You, Next. LOL.

2018: Thus Far

It's halfway through 2018, and yet this is my first post for the year. Hooray! (yeah?)

To make up for the lack of entries these past 6 months, I'll let you in on some of the highlights (feeling celebrity lang) from this year thus far. It's like my own personal version of the SONA.

Let the photodump begin!

January: Prepped for my very first party styling gig - a Moana-themed 7th birthday party. I'll share the full details on a separate blog entry.

The Schwarzkopf Gliss Kur Saga

Let me tell you about this product I can't live without.  It comes in different names - hair serum, hair repair, detangler - basically, it's like leave-on hair conditioner.

My hair happens to be the type that forms too much body due to humidity. It's the very reason I keep the pony as my everyday hairstyle - until I was introduced to Schwarzkopf Gliss Kur.

Entering a New Realm: Freezer Cooking

Say what? Freezer Cooking or Freezer Food/Freezer Meals. Basically, the idea is to cook food in bulk, chuck it in the cold storage and just re-heat things come meal time. It saves time, effort and money. Yipee!

Lumpiang shanghai, ready for deep freeze

Most work at home moms (WAHMs) have busy days, much like any corporate slave out there. There are times when we just can't whip up a nice meal that doesn't come from a can.

10 Kitchen Tools This Mom Can't Live Without

My love for cooking started as a curiosity. I'd spend idle mornings watching our house cook do her thing as a kid. Later on, that interest grew into cooking shows. Now, I can't say that I'm an expert chef or even a seasoned cook, but I've had my fair share of winner dishes!

Having spent a lot of time in the kitchen, I know for a fact that kitchen tools can make or break the day of any homemaker. The daily tasks that revolve around food-preparation is overwhelming, so handy helpers really make things a whole lot easier.

Forget About Magnum Ice Cream - Here's A Crunch!

Last summer, Magnum Ice Cream hit it big, being the talk-of-the-town dessert that everybody wanted to try. I was not spared from the fad, but after tasting it, I concluded it was nothing more special than my favorite Dilly Bar. ~P60 wasn't worth it, even if it was supposedly dipped in Belgian chocolate.

Semi-Permanent Vacation

Ayo! Greetings from the City of Smiles, Cebu!

This is probably the first time I'll mention this. My kid's dad and I are not exactly a couple. Let's just say that our relationship falls into the 'it's complicated' category.

No Regrets, No Resolutions

Happy 2013! This year, instead of making resolutions, I'd just go straight to making a to-do list.

Last Christmas, Santa gave me my dream machine - it was a Homemaker sewing machine I've been eyeing for months. It's missing a few parts but I hope I can easily find replacements to get the sewing started! So expect to see more DIY projects on this space soon. :)

Morning Mercato Centrale Bazaar

-->

Craftymommi, my eBay.ph shop, had its bazaar debut last weekend at Bonifacio Global City's (BGC) Morning Mercato Centrale!

Mercato Centrale is a weekly foodie event, showcasing home-cooked creations with some organic produce, arts and crafts on the side. Since it's Christmas shopping time and all, I decided to secure a booth for my shop to test the market.

Kota Kinabalu City Tour-ing

-->

After climbing Mt. Kinabalu, we still had 3 more days to spend in Kota Kinabalu in Malaysian Sabah. Legs sore and bodies still aching, we didn't pass on the opportunity to explore the city. Our group took to the streets and went sightseeing on foot.

Hann's 3rd Birthday

Today is my kid Hann's 3rd birthday. I didn't plan anything big for him because it's a weekday, but we'll definitely have a nice party-feel lunch come this weekend. I'm talking balloons, cake and ice cream!

Still, I didn't want to let this day slip by like an ordinary day so I brought Hann to the local Children's Museum (Museo Pambata). He had a great time there because most of the exhibits are hands-on.

Birthday Delivery ~ Dressed Toblerones

Today, I received a special delivery of flowers and chocolates! Yes, they are special because today is my birthday!

The flowers immediately went into a mason jar filled with water.

The chocolates, however, are still sitting here. I'm not really a Toblerone girl (a Ferrero, yes!), but these pair of chocolates caught my interest because they don't say Toblerone up front. Instead, the packaging says "I Love You" and "Happy Birthday".
