February Half-Month Grocery Haul and Shopping Tips

This is February's half-month grocery/market haul for the household.

Budget P1500
Total P1479.25

These are mostly non-perishable items, like toilet paper, laundry soap and long shelf-life ingredients like cooking oil, powdered milk and oats.

I get fresh fruits and veggies here and there throughout the month because those don't last long if I buy them all in one go.

Yesterday was a small win because I was able to stay within budget. Yay!!!

Let me share some tips on how to keep within budget when grocery shopping:
✅ Scan your fridge and pantry and note what you have in stock at the moment.
✅List down items that needs replenishing. This includes items are are running low.
✅You don't have to replenish everything that's out. For example, you're out of salad dressing. If it's not on your meal plan, then you don't necessarily have to get one now.
✅ Don't go shopping on an empty stomach! It's more tempting to splurge if you go in hungry.
✅Bring your list (with estimate price per item) when you go grocery shopping.
✅Avoid picking up items that are not on the list.
✅Do price comparisons and look for promo items.
✅Use your supermarket rewards/loyalty card upon checkout. Sometimes you get an extra discount or a freebie item with it.
